Over 50 years of innovation and growth at Hitado
Hitado, a leader in the distribution of point-of-care solutions, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. Located in a former farmhouse on Möhnesee, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hitado impresses with its unconventional company history and enduring start-up spirit. Despite its global success and processing up to 450 parcels a day, the company has retained its down-to-earth character.
Hitado has its roots in the company Ruhrtal Labortechnik (RLT), founded in 1974, which specialized in the supply of laboratory materials. Despite the highly competitive market and many challenges, the company has managed to assert itself through innovation and adaptability. After moving to the new premises in Dreihausen and changing its name to Hitado in 2002, the company has continued to develop. Under the management of André Michel, the company has grown to over 100 employees today.
A major milestone in Hitado's history was the acquisition by Sysmex in 2010, which brought new opportunities in processes and global reach. Today, Hitado is a key brand of Sysmex, with around 8.500 active device systems and over 10.000 customers.
Hitado's history is characterized by perseverance, innovation and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions. This spirit has made Hitado a successful, dynamic company that is still growing and evolving after half a century.
